Quay Appointments is proud to announce its partnership with NSW Electoral Commission for staffing the 2023 NSW State Elections. 

 

The partnership creates 1400 short term casual job opportunities working at the International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour Sydney. Jobs will include Data Entry and Clerical positions from 25 March, Election Day, to 15 April 2023. 

 

Quay Appointments will staff the “Centralised Declaration Vote Count Centre”. This will include a range of staffing services.

  • Hours of Work

    AM Shift 7.00am to 2.30pm OR 

    PM Shift 3.00pm to 10.30pm 

  • Working Dates

    Start 25/26/27 March to 14/15 April 


    (10 to 17 days work) 

     

    All work has been assessed on expected quantity of ballot papers, we can only estimate the proposed end dates. 

  • Role Types

    Role Types will include but not limited to: 

    • Postal Scrutiny 
    • Extraction 
    • Data Entry Officer 
    • Gate Keeper 
    • Initial Count & Batching Officer 
    • Quality Audit Officer 
    • Supervisors
  • Hourly Rates of Pay

    From $30.95 to $37.64 


    Pending your position, shift and working days.

     

    Plus penalties for weekends and public holidays 


    Pay rates quoted do NOT include superannuation 


    All pay rates, penalties and overtime will paid in accordance with Clerks – Private Sector Award

  • Parking

    Unfortunately, there is strictly no onsite parking. 


    Secure and Wilson Parking stations located within walking distance. Parking will be at your own expense. A carpool with co-workers may be a good option. Work and travel together! 

  • Eligibility/Essential Criteria

    To apply for a position in our 2023 Elections Team please review the information below criteria to ensure you have the skills, experience, and are available to work for the duration of the assignment.   

     


    Essential Criteria 


    • Electoral Roll: You must be an Australian Citizen who is enrolled to vote. 
    • COVID Vaccination: Given the volume of our workforce, strict deadline, and sensitivity of the Election Project all staff will require proof of full vaccination (double vaccinated). 
    • Impartiality:  You will be required to declare you have no active or official connection with any political party, any election campaign committee, or any person who has nominated as a candidate for an election in a district or region. 
    • Australian Working Rights 
    • Availability to work: To maximise the earning potential of our team and minimise staffing resources we require you to be available to work all hours (either AM or PM Shift) and all days. This will include a minimum commitment of 10 days and up to 17 days depending on the position you are offered. 
    • Elections Experience is viewed favourably but not essential. 
    • Attention to Detail and Accuracy 
    • Confident computer skills if applying for Scrutiny or Data Entry 
    • Proficient in numeric or alpha numeric data entry – minimum of 7,000ksph if applying for one of the data processing or scrutiny officer positions. 
    • Team Work absolutely essential for the successful delivery of this event.
